Waouw ! At last at start of a clear view. To make it clearer, souldn't
there be :
1/ even more precise elements for OSes ("AmigaOS 4.x, 5.x with Amiga DE" and
"AmigaDE on top of something else")
2/ isn't Amithlon a hardware spec (x86 Athlon not Intel) with a 2 softwares
for emulations (AMIthlon or AmigaOS XL). If so, this should be precised I
think.
3/ is BoXer really still alive ?
4/ Stefen Haeuser's comments are very interresting but only focuses on one
axis of the equation : of course one could be emulated by another but the
question is on what hadware will it hit. So I'm not sure the comments are
relevant.
5/ Shouldn't there be information on MorphOS running emulated.
6/ Shouldn't you add a space between Linux and PPC as there seems to be at
least 3 flavour of linux running on PPC Amigas (LinuxPPC, Debian and Suse).
Anyway, your comments are giving a clearer view, at least for me.
And by the way, my motivation is that I wanted to know what are the next
steps that appears as my beloved A4000mikronikized+CybPPC+CvPPC+7 uwSCSI
HD+MO+Jaz+scanner+printer... seems to be aging and have more and more
failure of the hardware. So I'm urged to make a move. AND I DON'T WANT TO
LOOSE THAT FANTASTIC OS with all it's conviviality unmatched in other OSes
(didn't try MacOS X but I doubt there is a shell for instance) and all the
software I bought during those years and still use. But yes, I miss such
softwares like openoffice, filemaker, golive or now-softwares (outlook like)
and hardware support like DVD or high capacity HD (> 4 GB in one partition)
or 32bit sound output and input.

I hope this page will be completed/amended during time until we get a clear
view again (until AmigaInc has finished the transition and wars are over in
our community).
